Footpath Problems - if it’s blocked report it!!!!!
Springfield Farm, Horton, South Gloucestershire - Ron Phelps
Many members will know that the use of footpaths across Springfield Farm, Horton, South Gloucestershire has effectively been denied to walkers due to the aggressive attitude of the landowner. In recent weeks matters seem to have escalated with verbal abuse to one of our own Avon members and a physical assault, when confronted by three people, on a walker from the Melksham area.
See the attached files for the recent legal history regarding these footpaths.
Pre-walking our routes not only makes the leader look incredibly assured and confident on the day (well, it helps!), it's also that we do sometimes find paths that are blocked or changed, meaning re-routes are required. If you do find an issue with a path when pre-walking, please report it, so something can be done about it. Here is advice on how to do this - or you can just complete this report form.
If the problem is in South Glos they've got a more dynamic online form.
