Chipping Sodbury - Saturday 18th February
Join us for a scenic countryside walk, and to meet up with other members from our local Ramblers groups.
Parking
Limited free on-street parking spaces in High Street, Chipping Sodbury, BS37 6BJ, or head for the free Barnhill Road Car Park, off Wickwar Road (near Waitrose).
Unfortunately, the BS37 6RS postcode previously given for the free Barnhill Road car park may not work on Satnav and may incorrectly direct you down a road on the opposite side of Wickwar Road.
Please either park in one of the free parking spaces in the High Street OR, from the High Street, proceed down Wickwar Road, take the first left into Barnhill Road, and then turn left into the car park marked Town Car Parking, immediately before the entrance to the Waitrose car park. The Waitrose postcode is BS37 6AU.
Walking towards town from the Barnhill Road car park, cross over an elevated footbridge (at the steps) which goes into a courtyard that emerges into Chipping Sodbury High Street. Cross over the High Street and on the left you’ll see the Library at the Old Grammar School, where the walks starts. For the buffet and AGM, go through the doorway next to the red telephone box, and look for the downstairs Watkins Room.
If you can’t find a space in the High Street, or the Barnhill Road car park, we suggest you drive further down Wickwar Road, take the first left onto Drovers Way, and park in Drovers Way, or in one of the residential roads off that road.

Meet outside the Old Grammar School, High Street, BS37 6AH. (Toilets available inside).
We will be walking across fields, along a quiet lane through Sodbury Common, and back via the Frome Valley Walkway. The route will be quite flat except for a short, steep climb to Old Sodbury church - on a clear day the views from there are excellent. Non members welcome.
